As you walk out of your room, you have these beautiful landscape views of the mountains. You look a few meters ahead of you then you see this rubble just lying there in front of you. It's disgusting and unpleasing. Secondly, there were trees trimmed down to the stump, they were not marked and there was no light shed on them. My partner broke parts off his bakkie driving over them when we arrived as we were not warned about them and they were not visible at all. There is no fridge in the room to keep water or anything cold. There was coffee and sugar, but they didn't replace the sugar or coffee after the first evening. I would never stay here again!
Walter is great, went out of his way to help us. The furniture needs renovation. It's very old and neglected. The other guests partied until after 12, they were helpful and asked a couple of times to slow down. They didn't listen.

On arrival there was no water and water was cold. Severe rain damage in the room and when it rains it drips on the floor. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room is way too expensive for what you get. Parking far from the room. The spa was fantastic and their 'Swedish Massage' is recommended.

The places are arranged very neatly. We slept well and had a good time with the children at the restaurant. It was a great treat for all of us.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was not impressed with their food, especially the juice for breakfast. The owner did assist when we complained about the watermelon and gave us a fresh one. We did have dinner one evening and the wings were not nice at all. But overall, the stay was a blissful one and the place is beautiful but can be improved for better. In the future please also have 2 therapists at least at the spa.

Friendly staff. Lovely food.
The accommodation was extremely dirty, plates knives forks and glasses were dirty. There were cockroaches everywhere and the place smelled of urine. If we didn't already have reservations for the next day so we didn't spend the night there. I think that what we paid and what we got was not fair or value for money at all. This is the first time I have had such a bad experience with the website and will think twice before using them in the future.
The bathroom just needs a door instead of a curtain.

We really enjoyed our stay, with your friendly staff, who was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back next time and will highly recommend you to our friends and family.
There was a leaking air conditioner right at the door of the unit. It was pouring a pool of water. We called maintenance to come and fix it. The technician said it is fixed it won't leak again. To our surprise it got worse, we nearly fell from that wet floor. It was really not nice to see and the TV no channels at all. It was not showing anything at all.
Jaccuzi should be free and the 6 sleepers should be 2 bathrooms.
Noise from guests is too much. The bar and restaurant did not have most of the items available.
Location is good, but nowhere where you can sit in the sun and watch birds. Cold and clinical. Want more personal space. Such a shame for the fantastic place that accommodates tour buses.

The staff was the highlight of the stay. Rooms and facilities were clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. I wouldn't suggest the restaurant's dinners, I suspect that COVID and travel restrictions had an impact on the fact that one member of staff had to man the bar, restaurant and kitchen. It was a bit wild but probably understandable considering that we were 1 of 3 groups of guests there. On the last night we were not informed that the restaurant and bar were not open - because we were the only guests there and they sent the staff home. The amenities in the rooms are limited so we didn't have a fridge to keep things cold, it would have been nice but not required. If you would like to watch TV, pack your laptop/iPad instead, the WiFi is great, the TV channels are limited and reception is bad. I would definitely stay there again because I believe these places just need more support in difficult times and that everything will improve as soon as people can travel again and tourists are plentiful again. Thank you very much for a good, comfortable weekend.
Floreat is very well located and affordable. I enjoyed the service and the staff were friendly and competent. The only negative comment I can have is that the more exotic dishes could use more attention. The "Trout" was not prepared well at all, and neither were the prawns. The other dishes and breakfast were first class.
Toilet seat was broken, not enough cups or cutlery for all 5 of us to use at the same time, asked for a fixed kettle as ours was broken, reception promised to deliver but we went to the reception an hour later to fetch the smaller kettle. Swimming pool? What swimming pool? They were currently putting in a new one. Maybe this was the reason for the discounted price, but we should have at least been fore-warned.
The pictures are very misleading. Didn't get the room that was booked the first night and the TV's remote and aircon didn't work, there aren't carports for everyone's cars either. The next day I had to move to another room where it went a little better. Place does not look at all like in pictures. I wouldn't consider it a lodge, more like a guest house. Before the guests book in, it must be checked that als works. At least staff are helpful.
Well received at reception. Only two glasses in unit that has to accommodate 5 people, Not enough towels for number of guests, no braai equipment in self-catering unit. Some of the beds did not have top sheets. For a three star rating, they need to do much better.

Admin is disorganised, the room has faulty aspects and the restaurant is extremely slow with service.
The photos are misleading. It is not worth the money at all. The room has a smell and the appearance is disappointing.
The doors won’t lock. Everything is so old and tethered (drapes, tablecloths, cutlery, bedding) it’s falling apart. We received horrid old swimming towels as bathroom towels. I’d steer clear of this establishment - it’s not value for money at all! A huge disappointment for what we paid. Quite shocked at how run-down this establishment is. Really not a great stay.

The room was a big disappointment.
The accommodation is pleasant and comfortable. It would be nice to have better lighting at the dressing table, as well as a small table or bench in the bathroom to put your clothes on. The room was thoroughly cleaned daily. The restaurant's food was very nice. At breakfast the line was sometimes a bit long, it would be good if there could be more staff present to help with frying eggs or making omelettes if the restaurant is very busy. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked for three people and asked for a double bed and a single bed and got two single beds that were pushed together. There are no braai facilities!
Although we had a very nice stay, I feel the price per room is way too high for what you get. There were tea and coffee making facilities but literally only 1 bag of coffee per person. A small bar fridge would also have been convenient. The buildings need a little renovation. However, staff were very helpful and quick to help.
The place looks nothing like the pictures. Had to wait a long time for our room because they gave ours to someone else. And their pool stinks.

We got a good and friendly reception. It is a very nice place and really got value for our money. The breakfast was very nice - they have a good variety to choose from. The place is also very centrally located so that you can easily drive out to all the beautiful places. Will definitely use them again.

The staff were very welcoming. The buildings seemed to be outdated and not very well maintained. The chalet was a real let-down. The interior design was among the worst I have ever seen. It was cold and poorly thought out. There were no carpets in any of the rooms, which made the chalet even colder. The layout in the bathroom was terrible. Completely impractical and would definitely need to be changed. The place has a lot of potential but is in dire need of an upgrade.
We had to get accommodation for the long weekend. First the good points: If you bath at night, there is instant hot water. The restaurant's food is delicious. And as breakfast was included there was a wide variety to choose from and once again it was delicious. The towels were in good condition. Our waitress named Josefine was friendly and helpful. Points they should work on: You must figure out how the TV works, no remote. The rooms are outdated as well as the aircon. The décor dates back to the eighties and is falling apart. The bath/ shower needs some explanation to operate and it leaks water. If you bath in the morning, pray that you have water to use. The swimming pool is so tiny in comparison to the lodge. My pillow had mildew on. The gardens are full of weed. Once they attend to these matters it can be a very nice lodge.
The hotel-type breakfast was delicious and of high quality. It was very pleasant. Rooms spacious and sufficient for one night or a few nights.
The location is perfect by the river and offers a lovely view of the mountains. Rooms look old from the outside, but are clean and nicely done up inside. Service was very good. Breakfast is delicious. Also safe accommodation.
We stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend. The rooms are comfortable, and leave nothing wanting. The breakfast was superb and we were spoiled for choice. However, the dinner a-la-carte menu is a tad on the expensive side. Otherwise, our stay was really pleasant!
Very centrally located for activities and sightseeing around.
I will only put cooling in rooms even if it is ceiling or floor fan. There is also no small fridge and so we could not keep our milk and water cool.
The bedding is dirty and broken and full of holes. Same with the towels. They should really think about upgrading. Can't believe they are 3 star rated.
Towels and bedding was very old. Towels even had holes in it. Altough the towels were shabby, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and the place was clean.
The location and view are great and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. However, the facilities at Floreat are showing signs of wear and tear. Furthermore, it was quite shocking for us to sit down for breakfast the second morning and find out that there was no bacon available. The problem was addressed and we each received a plate of bacon for dessert. In summary, the price compares with that of a three- to four-star hotel in the city while the facilities, rooms and quality of the food are not at the same standard. However, the staff is very helpful.
Will definitely visit Floreat Riverside Lodge again. From the time my sister and I checked in, until we left, the service was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, and the silence and tranquility in the Lodge impressed me. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant's dishes perfect. Compliments to the Chef. Many thanks to the staff and management.

The breakfast was limited, but of a good quality and served on time. The Lodge needs a lot of work in several places, but we would definitely consider going back.
Floreat riverside lodge is a nice place to stay and it is next to most points of interest. What I also loved was that it had an information desk about all the places to visit and things to do in Mpumalanga. Thank you guys, till next time!!

It's always pleasant to stay at Floreat Riverside Lodge. We enjoyed our time here a lot.
The room was nice and clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the TV reception was poor and we would have liked more TV channels available. We could e.g. not watching rugby at all. Attention must be paid to the geysers in the rooms - if water is tapped in another room, it makes such a loud noise that one cannot sleep.
Good place, well priced - needs some small changes such as blue lights in bath room.
